Q: How long has Movebubble been trading?
Movebubble secured seed funding August 2013, and has only recently come out of beta with a revenue generating website. However the response has been overwhelming already; it would appear that people really want to be able to do it themselves, without the need for an agency.
Q: How did it all start?
Aidan Rushby was working at the sharp end of the lettings industry as Group Head of Marketing and could see that there was a better way to achieve the same results utilising technology and a disruptive approach to innovation. Tony Edwards and Aidan worked on the legal implications of such a business. I have founded 2 previous businesses, and have also specialised in community and brand building. Aidan and I met doing our MBA, and ideas of a community centred rental platform that offered superior value for customers at a far reduced cost blossomed. The rest as they say, is history…
Q: Why chooseMovebubble?

Q: Who do you currently work with?
I am unable to tell you of many of our current strategic partners because we have not announced our involvement to date, but we do push and bump (3 times daily) all properties to Gumtree and other large UK classified sites including; Vivastreet, Loot, Freeads, UK Classifieds, Preloved UK, amongst many others. Ultimately our relationships with these providers are to ensure maximum visibility for our owners’ property.
Q: How do you create value for your clients?
We develop easy to use technology to make our customers’ lives easier, reducing both the time and money spent on all the tasks required to rent property and manage the relationships with their renters.
Q: How do you overcome your competitors?
I believe that competition is a great thing, as it ultimately increases the value for the end user and offers them choice. There are lots of online agents in this space, but Movebubble is not an online agent, it’s a community marketplace. Movebubble gives owners access to all the tools required to become an ‘unagent’ and self serve; so it offers similar services to online lettings agents with the usability of companies such as Airbnb and Dropbox. Overcoming competitors is a gradual process, and does not happen overnight. Ultimately I believe if you build a sustainable business, you will overcome your competitors in those areas that you specialise in.
Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?
Our greatest achievement must have been the first transaction through Movebubble, which demonstrated to us all that the platform worked and our core business assumptions were right.
Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?
A company has to be brilliant. It’s pretty simple. Focus on the customer, and your product and service levels and you should be ok. A good idea and business strategy always help too.
Q: Have you been surprised by the rapid growth of the business?
I think that we always understood that there was a very serious market for Movebubble, and we have experienced very exciting growth already.
