Man arrested in closed agency probe

Police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of fraud following the closure of east of England letting agency Kirby Property Management.

The 48-year-old man from the St Neots area has now been released on bail, while police have executed four warrants at addresses in London and Cambridgeshire.

Late last month Landlord Today reported the mysterious closure of Kirby Property Management, which has three offices at Cambourne, St Neots and Cambridge.

Landlord Today tried to contact the agency by telephone and email but without success, with telephone calls terminated by an automatic voice claiming “attendants” are not available to answer.

Local press reports suggest landlords and tenants have tried to discover the whereabouts of the company’s staff, but without success. NALS says it is willing to help victims.
