Free safety information event for landlords

Landlords and letting agents are being invited to attend a free drop-in event taking place next month that will provide information about minimum property standards and changes in legislation.

The session, which will take place on Monday 12th December in Sleaford’s Council Chamber in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, will be held by North Kesteven District Council’s safe as houses team.

NKDC’s housing enforcement and sustainability officers will be on hand to offer advice as well as providing information on heating and insulation initiatives offered by fuel providers.

There will also be representatives to speak to from the National Landlords Association (NLA), DASH and NKDC’s benefits team.

Counillor Stewart Ogden, executive board member for housing, said: “Our ‘safe as houses’ initiative aims to protect tenants to ensure that every home is safe and healthy and support landlords to provide advice on the standards needed to be met to provide quality housing, which is warm, secure and free from safety risks.

“The drop-in events are free to attend and will provide plenty of useful information and I strongly encourage landlords to pay a visit.”

The event will run from 1-4pm with a welcome and information presentations given at 1pm and repeated at 2.30pm. The presentations will last approximately 20 minutes altogether and the representatives will be available to discuss any questions you may have.

To register your interest in attending at either 1pm or 2.30pm or if you have any questions email safeashouses@n-kesteven.gov.uk or call 01529 414155.
