New tenant referencing service aims to become ‘the benchmark for landlords’

We all know that tenant referencing is an extremely important process when you are renting out your investment property. After all, who would not want to know precisely who is moving into their property when it comes to making an informed decision about prospective new tenants?

Finding the right tenants is not always easy, but a new company believes that it has found the solution to finding the perfect applicants.

Tenant Checkers has launched a comprehensive new home interview service which offers a way to gain an in-depth understanding of the prospective tenant, providing an accurate ‘real time’ account of their current circumstances, how they treat their accommodation, whether they smoke, if they have pets or perhaps even sub-let.

Once the interview has taken place, Tenant Checkers, which currently operates in southern England, will send the landlord or letting agent a written, detailed report of the applicant’s current situation, enabling them to make an informed decision about the prospective tenant renting from them.

Peter Owen, founder of Tenant Checkers commented: “Until now, the only way to reference a tenant has been with a credit check and employer or landlord reference. However, this is not sufficient for those who want the peace of mind that their tenant will look after the property and pay their rent on time.

“One of our highly experienced agents will interview the prospective tenant in their current accommodation and compile a report and feedback on the outcome of the meeting. This is an excellent way to tell whether the tenant has been entirely truthful about their circumstances.”

The Tenant Home Interview Service starts from £75 + VAT.
