While observing property online does not trump seeing a property in person, those of you who have ever spent time house-hunting will appreciate just how time-consuming looking at countless homes to let can be.
Anyone who has ever been tempted to view a property, but found that it is not to their liking when it comes to actually seeing it in person, will appreciate how valuable photographs can be in helping them compile a viewing shortlist. So when a property listing – whether online or in print - is still ‘awaiting images’, it can be a real turn off for prospective renters.
Research conducted by Rightmove indicates that properties with photos get 81% more interest than those without, and additional photos increase click through rate by 15%. So do not allow your letting agent to ever list your rental property without having yet secured images first.
Whether your property is listed online, in a printed brochure, or as part of a window display, there must be good quality photographs included, as they can help potential renters visualise the layout and condition of the property beforehand, enabling them to decide whether it is potentially the right property for them.
Tim Wright, product director at KeyAGENT, is among those urging buy-to-let landlord landlords not to underestimate the power of good quality photography when marketing a property to let.
He said: “Renters get the best first impression of a home when letting agents list the property with beautifully enhanced photos.
"Standing out from the competition from the moment a potential tenant comes across your property is almost impossible without exceptional photography.”
