The South West’s biggest landlord exhibition return...

There are a number of key changes facing private landlords at the moment, which is why this year’s Landlord Expo, to be held at the University of the West of England in Bristol on 13 June, is a must-attend event.

With more than 90 exhibitors, ranging from financial experts, tax advisors, solicitors, letting agents, trades people and suppliers, already signed up, the event should prove valuable.

There is a full packed programme of seminars during the day, which are free to attend, with information on tax issues for landlords, property investment advice, and landlord finance options and an update about extended mandatory licensing.

Private landlords are facing an ever increasing list of legal requirements that they need to comply with, and in addition recent tax changes mean that for many landlords their profits will be reduced.

Cllr Paul Smith, cabinet member for housing, said: “This event will outline what is expected of landlords but also provide them with practical advice and support to help them meet these expectations.

“We want to work with landlords to make sure that all their properties meet the standards we expect in the city and we hope that this event helps both landlords and tenants to get the best out of their properties.

“If we all work together we can continue to improve housing conditions across the city.”

The free-to-attend event, which is organised by the four West of England Local Authorities; South Gloucestershire, Bristol, North Somerset, and Bath & North East Somerset, takes place on Wednesday 13 June between 11am and 6pm.
