An angry tenant who damaged his landlord’s car following a tenancy deposit dispute has been ordered to pay £1,351 repairs.
Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard how Hieu Le, a 23-year old master’s degree student studying at Nottingham Trent University, scratched the bonnet of his landlord’s car with a stone, after being told that his £250 deposit was being withheld to pay for damage to his bedroom following an end of tenancy inspection.
Le, now of Welbeck Walk in Nottingham, felt that the deposit should have been returned, plus claimed that he had been denied access to the property to collect some of his belongings.
