Zoopla launches search function for new homes

With no repairs required, lower running costs and energy bills, as well as NHBC’s 10-year warranty, new build homes appeal to many private landlords, and that is why Zoopla’s new development-led search function is likely to prove popular with buy-to-let investors.

Zoopla is the first whole of market property portal to offer a development-led search function. The move is designed to make the website the preferred choice for new build house hunters, with a view to improving lead quality for new build listings by housebuilders and developers.

Building on the search function of the former webpage, the renewed search experience will facilitate a development-led overview, enabling housebuilders to promote multiple properties, as well as the lifestyle credentials and amenities of each development.

The new functionality will include the grouping of development sites into a specific development listing, added search functionality for a development by location, as well as dual branding for both housebuilders and developments, among other benefits.

David Wascha, chief product and technology officer at Zoopla, said: “Our launch of the revised new homes search experience underlines our commitment to providing the very best service to housebuilders and developers.

“It is critical that we prioritise their needs and the needs of homebuyers, and that we pivot our approach to deliver maximum return on investment for them. The result is an intuitive search-function, that is easy to navigate, and offers a holistic customer experience.”
