FirstPort, one of the largest managers of residential property in the UK, has taken over the operational management of an additional 5,000 homes in the year to date.

This is a sharp rise on last year’s numbers attributed both to the acquisition of new business and organic growth from existing clients.

FirstPort, which works with a number of Build to Rent developers, is often a single point of contact for the customers – from helping people secure a tenancy to looking after their home.

Mick Lohan, director of client relationships at FirstPort, commented: “Throughout the year we have strived to improve upon the mobilisation process to ensure that our clients’ experience throughout the process of handing schemes over to FirstPort management is as smooth and professional as possible.

“The mobilisation team engage with our clients very early in their schemes process: from planning, all the way to handover into the management by FirstPort. This approach has helped both parties fully understand each others’ requirements which ultimately benefits both freeholders and leaseholders.”
