New app aims to enhance renter and buyer experience

Zoopla has launched its new app experience which aims to help home-hunters easily find the most relevant properties on mobile and tablet. It is available to download on iOS and will be available on Android soon.

The new app aims to enhance the house-hunting journey with a fresh design, improved navigation and an intuitive interface.

‘Properties’ tab: enables users to see all properties they have interacted with in one place, which gives these listings greater visibility, with a view to encouraging more home-hunter interaction. Users can also save listings across all of their devices, enabling a clean user journey from app to desktop.

Personalisation: the search function has been separated from the homepage which, in time, will allow for greater homepage personalisation. The ‘Properties’ tab also adds a key element of personalisation to the user experience.

New navigation pane: located at the bottom of the screen creates a more intuitive interface. This is a step away from the traditional ‘hamburger’ navigation, giving users easy access to menu options which were previously obscured, and aligns with native apps such as WhatsApp and Instagram.

Cleaner design: a less-cluttered journey means users will focus more closely on agents’ listings in the app.

The revamped app comes at a time when recent research commissioned by Zoopla confirms that consumers rank apps as their preferred method for searching for properties online. According to the new research, 60% of consumers also stated they search for properties on a mobile or tablet device.

Charlie Bryant, managing director of Zoopla, said: “Zoopla is committed to creating and maintaining a marketplace where home-hunters feel ahead of the curve in their property choices and their knowledge of local property market dynamics.

“We anticipate this improved consumer experience within the app will generate more leads for Zoopla agents and in turn even better value for money for them. In this sense, both customers and agents benefit from our latest innovation.

“We have only started to scratch the surface of what is possible. As we tap further into consumer behaviours and target new demographics, we will continue to update and modify the app to better facilitate agents in reaching home-hunters and in generating new property leads.”
