Tenants invited to complete anonymous Coronavirus survey

Councils in North Wales want to find out how the Coronavirus pandemic is affecting private tenants.

Nearly one in five households in the region rent privately and the survey is thought to be the first of its kind in the area.

Councils and their partner agencies offer several services for private tenants - advice services, help with budgeting, explaining tenancy rights and alternative accommodation for some of those who leave the private sector.

To help the local councils plan their 2021 delivery of services, local tenants are now being invited to complete a short questionnaire and share their experiences.

A Conwy county borough council spokesman says: “This consultation with Conwy residents who rent privately, will give us first hand evidence of the challenges they have faced during the pandemic and allow us to better shape our services to meet their needs.”

The questionnaire is coordinated by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service Cymru, which works with landlords and tenants in Wales to help shape housing services.

All the responses will be anonymous.
