The best and worst cities for renters have been identified by taking into account several factors, including the average salary spend on rent, tenant evictions, and crime rate.

The research, which also took into consideration the private rented properties rate, annual rental price rises as well as the local unemployment rate, was undertaken by home specialists, Insulation Express, and found that based on the metrics used, Plymouth is the most renter-friendly city, with just 32% of their salary being spent on rent.

Plymouth also has the lowest unemployment rate, at 2.8%, and crime rate out of all cities, with 59.4 incidents per 1,000 people.
