East Lothian council has launched a survey about the operation of the private rented sector and its role in meeting housing need locally.

The survey will help the council and partners to understand more about the type, condition and costs of private rented accommodation; as well as the needs of tenants who use the sector.

Survey results will help to identify how local landlords can be supported to delivery good quality, well managed homes across East Lothian. The findings will be used to inform the next Local Housing Strategy.

A statement from the authority says: “To make sure that the results are accurate, we need to hear from private landlords operating across East Lothian. A separate survey will be held in July 2022 to gather the views of private sector tenants.”

All landlord responses will be confidential and anonymous.

The survey will close on July 22 and can be completed online.
