EPC and HMO teach-in for landlords as councils unite over renting

Landlords with property in Breckland, South Norfolk and Broadland have been invited to attend a free online Landlord Forum networking and learning event on March 24 - that’s next Thursday.

Hot topics expected to be discussed include understanding current and new legislation, grants available to landlords and tenants to assist with heating and insulation issues, and how to excel in HMO management.

The event is being run in partnership with Breckland Council, South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council.

The session will help local landlords be kept fully informed about current legislation and grants available, which will benefit local tenants and residents, who can then rent a property in the knowledge that the property is a safe, secure and healthy place to call home.

Hosted online, this free professional networking event will have established expert panel of guest speakers including Teresa Kaczmarek from the National Residential Landlords Association, Norfolk Warm Homes Partnership and Sarah Hyman from the Anglia Revenue Partnership

A Breckland council spokeswoman says: ”This free online event, offering expert guidance to landlords on current grants, legislation, and the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards Regulation, is also a great networking opportunity for you as a landlord with local agencies."

If you are a landlord in the Breckland, South Norfolk or Broadland areas, then simply register for your free by emailing privatesector.housing@breckland.gov.uk

They mentioned HMO licensing and management. They didn’t mention the different rules and fees through out the Country like £750. in Sheffield while more than double that in outer London £1550. we also pay initially £392, on submission and balance when license is granted but if you don’t get it or proceed go any reason the £392, is non refundable. In London licences can’t be changed and will remain on the property and cannot be changed even after you sell it, but a New Application must be made. However in Sheffield a LL can pass the Licence properly on to another LL for £360. Draw your own conclusions.
