A sports team has made the unusual move of issuing a direct appeal to private landlords to help it find accommodation for some of its star players.

Telford Tigers plays in the National Ice Hockey League, the sport’s second tier league in the UK. The league features 46 clubs from England and Wales as well as a club in south west Scotland and another Scottish club in its Cup competitions.

Now the Telford team has issued a dramatic statement, saying: “As Telford Tigers look to build on the foundations laid for the 2023/24 season, temporary accommodation to house players for the upcoming season is required.

“We are looking for landlords and agents with properties available to let between the months of September 2023 and May 2024, ideally in a central Telford location. All property types will be considered.

“If you have any information, or know any contacts who may be able to help please get in touch by emailing [email protected]. Your help is invaluable to us, and we genuinely appreciate any leads or information you can provide.

“As the anticipation builds for the upcoming season, it’s easy to focus solely on our new rosters who will take to the ice in September. However, behind every successful season lies a dedicated team working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.”
