A landlord has pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, with the offence having been racially aggravated, having sent abusive and racist emails to two leading politicians.

Maureen Urquhart, of Midlothian, was fined £500, having emailed the Scottish Government’s then-housing spokesman Patrick Harvie.

There were abusive and threatening content to some of the emails, including stating that Urquhart would shoot Harvie if she had a gun. There were also abusive comments made in the emails about the then-First Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf.

Urquhart also made abusive comments towards Muslims in one of the two emails.

Various media outlets in Scotland have covered the court case. You can see one such report here.
