Landlord Action founder Paul Shamplina is celebrating 25 years of the organisation and what he calls a number of notable achievements.

Founded in 1999 by Shamplina and his then-business partner, the company started with a mission to disrupt the market with a three-step fixed-fee process for property recovery and tenant eviction – an alternative to allegedly high solicitors’ fees.

In 2014 Landlord Action became a regulated firm of solicitors, taking a stand against the emergence of unregulated eviction companies that it says were cutting corners. It joined Hamilton Fraser – now Total Property – in 2017, and today has a staff of 23.

Shamplina says: “When we started Landlord Action, our mission was to provide fixed-fee property recovery and tenant eviction services to support landlords facing challenging situations. We were the only ones offering this kind of service. Over the past 25 years, we’ve remained committed to that mission, evolving with the industry and expanding our services to meet the needs of our clients.”

He highlights a number of stand-out successes by himself and the company – making squatting a criminal offence in 2012, recovering £90,000 in rent arrears in a single case ,bringing a notorious serial sub-letting scammer to justice, and appearing on six series of Channel 5’s Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords. P

A statement from the firm says Shamplina continues to personally handle landlord queries, conducts educational workshops and seminars for landlords and letting agents, and frequently appears on television and radio to discuss pressing issues in the private rented sector.
