TV panellist, consumer champion and business journalist Steph McGovern is to host the National Residential Landlords Association’s annual conference later this year in Liverpool.

McGovern – who now hosts ‘The Rest is Money’ podcast, with ITV political editor – is a former business presenter for BBC Breakfast and of the corporation’s flagship consumer affairs programme, Watchdog.

The 2025 conference is taking place on November 5 and comes at an important time for the rental sector amidst major reforms in the Renters’ Rights Bill, plans for new energy efficiency standards and speculation about further tax hikes.

The annual event, sponsored by Total Property, will give property professionals across the country cutting edge insights and advice on how to navigate the changes ahead and explore the future direction of the sector.

Delegates will also be able to access the latest advice on investment strategies and the services offered by the NRLA’s commercial partners and suppliers, covering everything from mortgage advice and insurance to effective property management.

NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle says: “Steph’s wealth of experience on business and finance issues will come to the fore at what will be a vital conference for the sector.  Amidst a blizzard of changes, this year’s event will be essential for all those wanting to get ahead of the game and take advantage of the expert insights on offer.”

The NRLA’s annual conference is in its fourth year and past speakers have included then-Housing Secretary Michael Gove, former Dragon’s Den star James Caan CBE and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.
