Landlords wanting to learn more about the Renters Rights Act are being urged to attend a housing conference this autumn.
Ashfield council is promoting the East Midlands Housing Conference, which takes place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on October 20.
A council statement says: “This will provide landlords, letting agents and housing professionals with practical guidance on the real-world impact of the Renters Rights Act.
“Landlords will hear from leading experts, gain practical advice on compliance, and explore how the changes are reshaping the private rented sector.
“Housing law specialist David Smith and Suzanne Smith, author of The Good Landlord Handbook, will deliver the keynote presentations.
“They will be joined by a range of expert speakers leading interactive workshops throughout the day.”
An exhibition featuring organisations that support landlords and housing professionals will also run alongside the conference.
A council spokesperson says: “We are here to support private landlords with the new changes coming in. It is an important part of maintaining a healthy and well-managed private rented sector.
“The Renters Rights Act represents one of the biggest changes to housing legislation in many years, and this conference offers an excellent opportunity for landlords to understand what the reforms mean in practice and how they can prepare.”
