What did the tenant do to start this whole process? Were they late in paying rent, not paying at all or causing damage to the premises? It's hard to comment on the action taken otherwise but I do believe the law in the UK is normally more favourable to the guilty party than the victim as seen by the weak sentences given which do not act as a deterrent to others.

I wouldn't object if it meant I could get a mortgage at the same rate homeowners do but Buy to Let interest rates are much higher. Don't hit us each and every way as we are running a business and soon it will not be profitable. May as well sell up and move abroad. Or be fortunate to have a Council house that I could sell for a £1m after buying from the taxpayers for £50 000.

Instead of paying into a private pension scheme, I elected to buy property and have the rental income as my pension. So, it seems my pension will now reduce unless I'm able to increase the rent to match the loss from the extra taxation. Seems there will be no winners except the Government who will spend it unwisely as has been proved in the past.
