My landlords are really getting fed up with the governments continual interference. Two of my landlords have now decided to sell their portfolio of properties which amounts to 6 properties. One landlord has decided to buy in Spain and just do holiday lets and I can see others doing the same. These interfering ministers have no conception of what ultimately will happen to the PRS. Shelter and the like need to gear up for an influx of homeless people.

After recent meetings with a number of my landlords 10% have made a decision to sell their investment properties which they no longer consider as an investment. The final decider for them was the tenant fee ban along with the section 21 being abolished. I sincerely hope this government starts a major social housing build programme, Otherwise more empty industrial units will be converted. God forbid.

It will affect Landlords who require the tenant find service. It will affect them in their pockets once the referencing fee ban kicks in. We charge £400 for tenant find, which includes marketing, viewings and drawing up the contracts, contacting the utility companies everything except the inventory. once the referencing ban kicks in I am certainly not going to cover the fee.

I recently served a section 21 to a tenant who continually failed to pay his rent. after the S21 expired the tenant had disappeared failed to respond to calls and letters. they have left the property in a poor state with personal items dumped at the property. They have not returned the keys and I have been informed we have to apply for a possession order which will take time and cost to our landlord before we can clear the property re-decorate and re let. how does this system work for the benefit of honest landlords.
