The way tax is going for the rental sector, there will be fewer and fewer people attracted to invest in BTL and the economy will suffer, shortage of rental stock etc. leading to even more house price inflation and so on. a change of government would be even worse. whats the solution?

good to see aat delivering a big win for those selling their rental properties but why wasnt one of the property representative bodies like the National Landlords Association doing this for us? I guess cos they dont want us to sell up and not be members anymore?!

agree its silly that some have 6 months where others have up to 18 months just because of different dates they started letting out a property. also makes sense to remove the link with the tax year like aat say. why not just give everyone 30 days from when they first start letting out a property to register - treat everyone the same and get everyone registered so they can benefit?
