Some acronyms some may not be familiar with: Multi-family Rental: (MFR) urban developments of apartments . Usually of significant scale and upwards of 200 apartments containing varying degrees of amenity Single-Family Rental: (SFR) houses. Often part of a multi-tenure scheme, ideally a third of that scheme. Located in suburban, exurban and rural areas. Suburban Build-to-Rent: (SBTR) similar to SFR but often containing an element of low-built apartments. Build-to-Rent: (BTR) the umbrella term for all purpose built, professionally owned and managed rental homes.
