amongst the worst offenders for poor property maintance and managment are local authorities ... it's a bit like poacher come game keeper .

I have lost count of the exit inspections I have carried out to find batteries missing from smoke detectors ... some people are incapable taking responsibility for there own safety .

I've just exchanged on my first BTL sale another follow in the new financial year .. I hedge by bets and sell now and get a good price before the mass exit begins ... best of luck with yours .

I have just exchanged contracts to sell our first property exit, then another in the next financial year ... I have had enough, there is little to no support from government ... I am pleased to be part of this exit story ... I can hardly wait to see how central and local government deal with the crisis they have created .

I think landlords will continue to get blamed and kicked regardless of the outcome of the GE ... and Labour's election promise of allowing tenants to purchase rental properties at a price set by Government is nothing but theft .. with the abolishment of section 21 I'm not prepared to take the risk on my investment so the first section 21 issued and sale agreed 3 weeks after putting it on the market .... I will see what happens next before the next financial year ... no other business gets this level of abuse by Government and by the vile propaganda that comes from Shelter .

I'm with you Paul .. it's a sure fire bet that things will only get worse, and I'm not going to wait for a last minute change of heart ... all parties have it in for LL and Labour want to go to much further ... we can't stand idle whist they pick our pockets ... I only have 3 flats so the first is on the market now with the section 21 issued .. whilst I can . I hate to say it ... But I do hope this monster they have all created comes back to haunt them . We are thinking about investing in a single property holiday let that we can then use in the winter months ... best of luck in what ever route you take .

when challenged on the Andrew Marr show on Sunday the shadow chancellor said it was a Labour commitment, he said landlords would be paid a fair price determined by local government .. It's anyone's guess what a fair price might be ... my guess is we could easily get a hung parliament so no party would have a majority . Perhaps one day government might realise what a vital service we provided ... I have put my first one on the sales market and my other 2 flats will follow ... best of luck to everyone, but I think my time as a landlord is coming to a conclusion .

Labour are the biggest threat to LL with there wish to introduce the Right To Buy for private tenants with the same discount as council tenants ... so not only a attack on income via tax increases a government theft of property ... it sort of makes the section 21 become a minor issue . I have started selling and will leave it to our clown politicians to resolve the housing shortage they have created .
