I understand the economic principle but can’t help but feel the current interest rate rises are ultimately stoking inflation rather than reducing it. After Brexit, Covid and the energy crisis, the fact that the government are now intentionally imposing further hardship on the public is unfortunate, to say the least.

Agreed, not sure why landlords have to bear the cost of all this

What an honour it is for landlords to be the chosen group to work in partnership with the government in financing the effects of Covid 19 :(:( (sense the sarcasm)

Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay Good strategy, they should also try that this afternoon with their groceries at Tesco and see how it works out.

Quite honestly, as a landlord I’m tired of being looked at as some kind of pariah with a bottomless pit of money. I’ve invested hundreds of thousands of pounds to provide rental property to people who want to rent. It’s a mutually beneficial arrangement. Their rent is also my income, how do I manage if I have to provide free accommodation. Why not recommend Tesco give away their food instead? It’s exactly the same proposition.

Just absurd. Almost 100% of my income is from rent - how do they suggest I put food on my table. As a previous poster said, no-one is expecting free food, free clothes, so why free accommodation?
