Buy to let portfolio means absolutely nothing, that is just a way of saying that you are governed by the bank (new council) you get a property make sure all is good, rent out then maintain it. then when you do not get your rent the bank (the new council) snatches it back, wait until furlough is over 5 million in the uk alone. that is when that funny brown stuff will hit the fan.

If any letting agent is found doing this ARLA will remove them from their association. not forgetting that tenants also find out exactly where the greedy letting agent lives. fair rent to a fair landlord from a fair tenant. every one should then be happy. not forgetting rent capping what happened to that no one knows.

There are "real Landlords" and there are portfolio snobs, the bank own the properties, all they are is a a property maintiner and a rent collector. The banks really dont care about how many properties that they repossess, after all the bank has been the new council for many years. The next big financial kick is going to be when the furlough ends, a lot of people really beleive that it will not be extended, this will result in literally thousands more job losses. lets face it if your mortgage is not being paid on the properties that are rented out then it goes. The other thing very concerning that letting agents only accept tennants who can proove affordability, if you are redundant / unemployed then you struggle to get any private property to rent. this has a knock on effect to us landlords are where are the agents going to get our future clients with the ability to prove affordability??? i know that an empty house is better than a bad tennant but it still sucks. some how i think the the whole rental system with affordablity will have to change.

The greedy parasitic type of landlords (there seem to be more of them than good landlords) the ones that have borrowed other peoples money to make profit from low wage earners will be going bust "HOORAY" teach em a lesson. at the moment if you want to get a btl mortgage they are demanding that the deposit should be at least 40% of the purchase price. that means that the banks are expecting a collosal bust in the property market, the banks never loose, this means to say that private tenants should vet the landlord to see how secure they are before signing any agreement. The bank of England has been the new council for many years, now it is time for pay back, the bank will take over the greedy landlords "portfloios" then put them to good use. meanwhile an attachment to earning put against the landlords for any of the banks losses.

well said, greedy landlords that have used the tax free money that they took out of the mortgaged property due to valuations being inflated will now be jumping off the roof tops.

sadly because of the latest virus, btl landlords are going to be suffering due to :- The government have only said that a three month mortgage holiday will be imposed that is if all of your tenants are not paying their rentals. because most btl landlords daisy chained their mortagages then if only one in 4 tenants pay their rent then no mortgage holiday will be granted. so therefore the banks will look to repossess. that is what i have been told, it appears that the banks will be looking to be propert wealthy. for the landlords who own outright their properties then when your tenants request a three month holiday then they will have to repay the shortfall, at the end of the holiday period, thatis only if they can afford to pay the full months rent plus ann extra agreed amount. the courts are going to have a hay day so are the legal "solicitors" even then what court is going to knowingly set a CCJ against any one tenant who has suffered?

Lets face it the general public "most of them" pay for housing. Some so called landlords are not worthy of that title, they are unqualified, uneducated arrogant and even ignorant thugs who treat their tenants as cash cows, it's those who need to be stopped. the decent landlord also needs protection from the bad tenants. Years ago when i first bought and paid for some small properties they where rented out to people on low income or even on benefits. how to get your tenant be be decent is give them the opportunity. Every year November the properties where inspected, they knew that the one who looked after their property the best had a fantastic bonus of one months rent free in December, guess what they all qualified, also my next list of future tenants was buiding very rapidly. One of the best secrets of being a good landlord never let the bank take control of your money or business. Be civil get rewarded act like ebenezer scrooge get condemned.

Well many years ago i said this and today this issue is coming true, The bank of England is the new council, they have let far too many greedy uneducated people to become landlords, they allowed them to daisy chain mortgages and expect the tennant to pay for all increases in interest rises etc, However now the governent are capping rents, banishing the section 21 notice and also if you do not maintain your property to a reasonable standard then you will have your property condemned. what is more but now because of this new virus if your tenant can not pay rent you will not be able to take them to court for possession as the courts will soon be closing. the banks are going to put you in a negative equity status then take the property from you then hand property to the local authorites where upon they will rent it out just the same as old council properties used to be. so all of those back street "property developers" will have purchased properties renovated them and found a suitable tenant all for who? This is a lesson to the greedy who pray on the vulnerable and poor. the tenant has more rights than ever before. the tenaants are a very strong body of people who are not going to be bullied. They also have the strength of the courts on their side.
