Great outcome for Mrs Rafique. As for holier than thou Acorn lot who must shell out £100,000 over a £300 matter, revenge is sweet I say. Nasty lot.

Then lobby your myopic MPs and council to build thousands of ring fenced low cost housing! And lobby them to reverse the many punitive tax and other laws that keeps driving private landlords away from long term rentals to short - term holiday lets! It's not rocket science.

Couldn't agree more. It beggars belief that a man with warped thinking on this scale was elected and is representing a community as an MP. Scary! He is clearly clueless. He mis-prioritised what ought to have been his number 1 recommendation i.e. build and ring fence more affordable housing in the area.

You can't "bet" on what you don't know. Even if that might have been the case but the landlords were clearly given enough opportunity to rectify those hazardous defects Also, nothing stopped them from evicting the tenants if they were culpable. Let's not defend the indefensible. Two potential wrongs don't make a right.

True but you know they'll never do that.

It always beggars believe why these rogue landlords won't engage with the council and carry out needed repairs which are in their own strategic interests so they and their tenants can live in peace. Rather they allow matters to escalate to a point where they are having to pay restitution and fines. Tiny brain comes to mind here.

This is a welcome development against those sharks. About time, I say.

These Marxists seems to forget 1). That Landlords are part of the wider UK society - we are not horrible aliens from another planet. 2). We are tax payers and voters like everyone else 3). We provide vital and much needed homes to our tenants 4). We contribute immensely to our local and national economies by giving jobs to tradesmen and material suppliers. We even pay the odd council tax to support our local councils. It is high time Landlords collectively take an anti-Labour campaign back to these no good for nothing, clueless opposition politicians. I'll readily lead such campaign.
