Hi. I put solar on a rental house about 10 years ago. It has paid for itself and the tenant gets the benefit too. As the FIT payments no longer exist ( to any significant degree) I now need to move to a new provider like octopus who pay for the energy being put into the grid. Personally for me I am delighted I put them in. It has been a win win all round.

This is a great piece, it’s good to hear the positive truth that the large majority of landlords care about the tenants and look after their properties. Your survey is well presented and I hope you publish this across the Uk. Having 3 properties I am often considered by many as raking it in and that I don’t work. Both thoughts are wrong and I am kind and generous to my tenants in many ways. I want them to feel safe and secure. May 2022 be a better year for all those professions constantly being knocked. Current governments seem surprisingly ignorant in many areas.

My Tenants are in safe and epc C homes which I hope to improve when I can. They are really well looked after and are happy having been in the properties with no fear of eviction. When I did have to ask someone to leave we went through together how we could sort out her finances . I lost several months rent aiding her to ensure her and her child had somewhere she could afford. If generation rent continue on this track they will loose us good landlords . Whoever is advising them needs to do some proper research!

Just thought you would like to know last year I put in double glazing ( replacement of very old double glazing) . I phone the tax man and it was allowed as a tax deductible expense .
