It's another tax and grab scheme by the gormlous, greedy government to rob hard working landlords and put tbem out of business in order to remove the competition for the Tory government's big build to let Tory party funders.

Marxist Comrade Corbyn has no understanding of the PRS and have been resposible for selling off much of the affordable council houses, along with the Tories, causing the current housing crisis. Furthermore they have taken no action againt terrible tenants who wreck property, dont pay their rents, sublet and leave behind thousands of pounds of unpaid council tax, utility bills and rent. Presumably the labour party want to help these people and get their votes because they are so desperate. Corbyn and co need to watch the program on tv called 'Slum landlords and difficult tenants, to help them understand what really goes on in the PRS.

I agree completely with what you have written steve. Unquestionably this government have a hidden agenda where they want to get rid of smaller landlords and replace them with large corperates because it is these that support the tory party and many members of the party have large financial interests in them. Their clause 24 tax grab specifically descriminates against smaller landlords with loans and is a completely vindictive disgrace. it In the end it will cause many tenants rents to rise unecessarily and lead to further homelessness. But in the end it seems that the Tory greed creed will triumph over decent behaviour and common sense.

A group of 600 landlords are funding an attempt to get a Judicial Review to overturn the removal of the 40% tax allowance on the Mortgage interest. This is an unfair and possibly illegal move by the Chancellor .We hope that they will be successful and I will be of course be supporting them accordingly.

I completely agree with the group of landlords who are attempting to stop clause 24 . This clause together with the increase in stamp duty are both designed to destroy or seriously damage good landlords who have properties in their own names. This will remove the competition for the larger ones who have their properties in a companies to take over the market unchallenged and further increase their profits to the detriment of the tenants would will find their rents rising even faster. This removal of the 40% tax allowance seems to be another piece of stupidly thought out unfair ,irrational and distasteful nonsense rather like the hot Cornish Pasty Tax that was later withdrawn. I believe that their is a good chance that a Judicial review both should and could agree with us that this is a completely unfair and highly damaging move which could be deamed illegal. I will be supporting them accordingly.
