The courts won't be able to cope, every S21 will become a S8, there won't be extra funds for the Court Service. All but the blind can see that the court system will be used as a further delaying tactic to stop the Local Authority housing sections for completely imploding as more disillusioned LL's pull out of the business. It's like dealing with a Communist not Conservative Gov't

The point everybody is missing here is that Oxford Council is going to totally fail with its administration of this scam , sorry scheme, just like Croydon and Liverpool have. They will take months, if not years to issue licences, inspections by council staff will not happen or will be waiting years to take place. Croydon have applicants from 2019 that won't get the property inspected until 2027. Yet another public sector farce in the making.

Having been through the Court process recently I can tell you that 3 or years will not see the backlog cleared, Baldrick and F***land spent months ensuring the court service has been completely sabotaged, even requesting (in the case of F***land) that HCEO's and CC Bailiffs stopped carrying out their duties (remember that??) at one stage. Hopefully there will be an election sooner rather than later, and the Commie-servatives lose enough seats to ensure a hung parliament and it leaves both sets of idiots squabbling for ever and the rest of use to get on with our business without further interference.

Absolutely, we were still awaiting inspections FIVE YEARS after having been scammed for the licence fees, as far as I'm concerned the Council has failed to keep to its "contract" and should refund our licence fess in full, never was anything else but a money making scam.

BB &Co still haven't realised that Baldrick and Pincher have been lying to them from the very start, they have no intention of setting up any fund to help out tenants pay off rent arrears, their hope is to drive as many landlords out of business as they possibly can.

Got a possession order last February, got a warrant last October. The Courts are delaying the matters by any means they can (ie, suddenly they can't send emails, it's got to be by post with paper documents). the Gov't are a bunch of CNUTS

You are correct, the jobsworths now use "abuse" as another stick to beat you with. You can call them up regarding a matter that they have failed on, you tell them they've failed, they don't know what they doing etc, they call this abuse and hang up the phone. So they've added a pompous, precious attitude to their list of failings as well, WTF!!

Mate, I've got £15k on one property outstanding. We had a PO last February, the Chinese disease came along and everything stopped. We have 13 months "pre Covid" arrears and fall under the egregious arrears category. The Court have successfully dragged their feet since 20th September when they re-opened with every excuse you can think of why the WoP has not been enforced. Finally, on Tuesday this week our case was put before a judge who will issue a judgement next week, after 11th January 2021, what do you think the scumbag MP's in the HoC will decide before then??? This is an almighty stitch up by the scum Gov't.
From:

07 January 2021 14:13 PM
Shelter and GR are obviously not paying attention. The Court Service is doing a splendid job in "dragging their feet, over looking applications, not taking court fees" and many other reasons for not processing evictions. In my case they have successfully, held up a Warrant of Possession since mid October, our application to have the matter transferred to the HC was overlooked for a month, they "forgot" to take the fee from the solicitors PBA account, our simple application has been with the judge for over a fortnight now. HMCTS ARE A TOTAL DISGRACE.
From:

Yes, I'm up for this, I've spent 5 weeks trying to obtain a Warrant, with the cnuts at the CC dragging their feet at every opportunity as they must have been forewarned that this nonsense was in the pipeline, now we know why they kept kicking the can down the road with removing the original stay, it was so they could get this load of old bollox in place.

Ben Reeve-Lewis, a TRO with Safer Renting which works with local authorities and supports tenants facing harassment, also expects to see a spike in illegal evictions. He commented: “Landlords who wouldn’t generally be in the criminal end of the market are resorting to taking a chance out of frustration with tenants unable to pay their rent. No, not frustration with tenants unable to pay their rent. It's frustration with a government refusing to support tenants by introducing a loans scheme for them to pay their rent, as Wales and Scotland have already done, and further frustration with a revamped court procedure deliberately designed to trip up the unwary with more spurious, unnecessary paperwork to make it easy for judges to throw out cases and "keep the plates in the air" for a few months longer.

“We did raise concerns about the number of engineers available to undertake these reports by the April 2021 deadline but have received assurances from MHCLG about capacity in the supply chain.” Yes, well they would say that, wouldn't they. I have three electricians that I use, one isn't going to do this work at all because he doesn't want to. One will fit them in around his usual contracting, so may be a couple a week. The final one said he'll set aside a day a week if the work pays for itself, which he doubts and in any event "nothing but testing is just boring" I can foresee the timescales for complying with this regulation not being met by thousands of Landlords.

Unfortunately, the idiot councillor who has no knowledge of letting property what so ever, fails to realise that the smallest rooms are always the easiest to let, the cheapest and the ones that tenants stay longest. Never mind that the room is now unlettable and the landlord will put the rent up for the remainder of tenants in the place. We use "too small" rooms as extra storage for the other tenants and increase their rents accordingly, we're actually better off that way. But never mind there is one extra person now looking for scarce accommodation eh!!!

"We will not hesitate to take robust enforcement action against those breaching their responsibilities under HMO legislation especially since the important change in legislation last October. We are also undertaking further work on introducing a landlord licensing scheme and a paper will be coming to cabinet in September". We've heard from other Councils what an absolute money spinner these Licensing SCAMS are and can't wait to jump on the band wagon, of course when the scam is proven to be a total farce like the ones in Croydon and Newham we'll just trot out the usual bull**** and hope to get the scam extended for another five years, so lots more lovely lolly.

Good for Rod Bloor, if Doncaster Council were so sure of their case they would have gone to court. It seems to me, as I deal with Local Authority staff regularly, that being an accomplished liar is the first requirement on their job descriptions. I wouldn't trust any of them these days.

We were double crossed by this shower of s*** government over the level of deposit, they had promised six weeks but reneged at the last minute. They have no idea regarding costs in the rental market. I've just been paid by the DPS, nearly 3 months after the tenancy ended and the 6 weeks rent didn't cover the costs of a professional clean, replacing the living room carpet, repairs to a laminate floor (not easy) and replacement of the vinyl in the bathroom (very nasty). I've had to agree not to chase the tenant for the outstanding amount otherwise the matter would go to arbitration in order to secure this payment. The upshot of all this is the rent has gone up for the next tenant to recover my losses. Will the clowns in government and the landlord bashers like Shelter and Generation Rant plus all the other assorted "do-gooders" ever learn the operation of market forces, I think not.
