The Association of Independent Inventory Clerks has announced two new training dates.

On February 18 and 19, it is holding its two-day Guidelines for Inventory Clerks course, with an interactive training workshop following on February 21. Both will be held at the Holiday Inn, Reading, Berkshire.

Pat Barber, chair of the AIIC, said: “We are delighted with the success of our new one-day interactive workshop. The key benefit for delegates is that it is a hands-on workshop, allowing them to put into practice what they have learnt on check-in and check-out procedures.

“The feedback we have received from delegates has been very positive and we have a number of people waiting to attend the next workshop.

“The interactive workshop is aimed at new and inexperienced clerks and also individuals who are thinking of becoming an inventory clerk. It is also ideal for any associate members, colleagues or landlords.”

The training course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5.30pm each day, and the workshop starts at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm. Anyone going to the workshop must have previously attended the two-day course.

Meanwhile, voting closes on January 31 for the Association's Inventory Clerk Of The Year Award. Letting agents and landlords can email their vote via the AIIC website.

This is the third year that the AIIC is running the award, which was set up to recognise and celebrate inventory clerks who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

The scheme is only open to the 500 or so AIIC members.

Last year’s winner was Charlotte Leigh of Howard Inventories, based in London.

The 2012 award will be announced at the AGM in March, where the winner will receive a trophy, a year’s free AIIC membership and prize money.
