Upad, the self-service lettings agent, has launched a dedicated Olympics lettings service.

For £250 plus VAT, home owners wanting to let their property out during the Games will have their properties listed on Rightmove, FindaProperty, Zoopla and Gumtree, for as long as it takes to find tenants.

James Davis, Upad’s CEO, said: “The lettings market surrounding the Olympics is quite simply huge. From July 27 until August 12, London will be awash with tourists all in need of accommodation.

“While hotels are expecting a boom in occupancy levels, more and more visitors have expressed interest in staying in private accommodation.

“Home owners with centrally located London homes suitable for Olympic VIPs as well those seeking accommodation close to the Olympic Park will see demand for short-term rentals sky-rocket, allowing home owners the perfect opportunity to reel in excellent financial rewards.”

However, many agents in London are reporting minimal Olympics demand from tenants, and are warning of various pitfalls in letting out property during the Games.
