PropTech Failure? Long-standing rental app disappears

A rental app which was pitched to landlords and tenants as “making renting a seamless and transparent experience” appears to have collapsed.

Movebubble first secured seed funding in August 2013 but only emerged from beta testing in 2015.

The app allowed prospective tenants to search for a property, interact with landlords or agents, book viewings, and leave viewing feedback.

Using data submitted by users, Movebubble suggested areas and properties based on renters’ real requirements, while including an analysis of property relevance to what renters are seeking.

The app would also ‘rate’ letting agents in order to give them performing to a consistently high standard on the app to receive more recognition.

Landlords had access to the league table and could make their decisions on who to instruct based off the highest-performing letting agents.

However the Movebubble website carries a message saying: Movebubble is offline … Dear clients and consumers, Movebubble is undergoing critical technical issues which are taking longer to resolve than expected. Our app is offline also, so please bear with us as we try to fix these issues. Any questions? email hello@movebubble.com."

There has been no response to an emailed query from Landlord Today.
