I lost interest in this post at the words "have been able to participate in this giant rip-off of the tenant." what a stupid article not bothered with the rest, love the comments though weird reading comments when not read the whole article lol

My understanding is the tenant will take out the policy in their name and they will have to set the excess to fit their budget, If the landlord takes out the policy then set the excess to the minimum (or agree the excess with with the tenants in writing) and then add the policy cost to the rent. any excess covered by the tenant can be claimed from the deposit since it is all agreed, also I beleive the deposit level should be increased to 6 weeks from 5.

Rightmove stats are rubbish, I don’t believe this report, I feel the crap that is spewed out here is getting worse, all the scaremongering created by these reports is ridiculous..

We have spoken to Tunbridge wells Council and they have advised they still have the discretionary powers to decide.
