Controversial Kent landlord Fergus Wilson has hit the headlines again, this time being accused of evicting a tenant simply because he asked for the boiler to be fixed.

The story in Saturday’s Guardian tells how Andrzej Koper, an IT worker from Ashford, received an section 21 notice just days after asking for his hot water system to be repaid.

Koper, 41, told the newspaper he woke on the morning of 16 April to find his shower only ran cold. Over the next eight days he battled to have the boiler fixed and was “stunned” when on 25 April Judith Wilson issued a formal possession notice ordering him to leave the property on 8 July.

The Wilsons claim Koper’s home on the Park Farm estate is one of 50 properties they plan to put up for sale, and say the eviction notice was "entirely coincidental".

It’s not the first time this year the Wilsons have been in the news. In January it was revealed they had issued eviction notices to all their tenants on welfare and told letting agents they would not accept any more applicants on housing benefit.

Last month saw Fergus Wilson, 65, found guilty of attacking a letting agent in a dispute over a boiler.
