Homeowners in Caerphilly, including private landlords, can access funding to make their properties more energy efficient.
Caerphilly council recently approved a new Private Sector Housing Renewal and Disabled Adaptations Policy which sets out priorities for private sector housing.
This includes plans to deliver financial assistance products to help private owners - including private sector landlords - and contract holders (formally known as tenants) to repair, maintain or adapt their homes.
A council spokesperson says: “Having a safe, warm and secure home should be a fundamental right but we recognise the impact the cost-of-living crisis is having on many of our residents and their ability to improve or maintain their home.
“The Private Sector Housing Renewal and Disabled Adaptations Policy aims to provide financial support to those who require it.
“This includes help to improve energy efficiency which is vital in making sure homes are warm and secure, whilst also keeping fuel costs to a minimum and reducing carbon emissions.”

Strange if we are going to Save the World
with a bit of insulation, electric cars take energy to, e-bikes blow up and our screens are full of black smoke from Wars around the World, maybe stop the Wars to save the planet before someone presses the button. So the climate is getting warmer why would I need more insulation, this year I only seen 2 nights of Frost in London ?.
Fair point. Stop sending millions to Ukraine and Israhell. Climate has changed. The British winter is very mild.
Thanks but no thanks 😂 The new FTB owners can spend the cash 💰
If I continue letting, and it is a big if at the moment, I am including unlimited gas, electricity and water in the rent. That way everyone will be warm, cosy and clean!
I agree with Michael concentrate all efforts on stopping the wars. They are the first priority.
You can be sure any 'funding' will come with a series of unworkable conditions 'in line with council policy'!!
