Free in-person event for landlords in buy to let hotspot

Scottish property portal ESPC has announced a free Buy To Let event targeted at aspiring property investors and landlords.

The event will be held at ESPC’s Property Information Centre in Edinburgh from 6pm until 8pm on February 8 and will allow those thinking about beginning a property portfolio to have their most pressing questions answered by property, tax and conveyancing experts.

Free to attend, the event will offer information on the status of Edinburgh’s private rental sector, as well as a Q&A session, followed by the option of one-to-one sessions for tailored advice to queries.

The panel include Head of ESPC Lettings Nicky Lloyd, who’ll give an overview of the current rental market; ESPC Mortgages advisor Shirley Mushet; property and conveyancing expert Gavin Pearson of Mov8; and Kara Marriot and Robert Andrews from Neilsons.

Lloyd comments: “Edinburgh’s rental market is renowned as one of the most in-demand in the whole of the UK, and the city is currently in need of quality rental properties to satisfy the huge number of prospective tenants searching for a home.

“With so much demand in the market, the opportunity is great for those considering a buy-to-let investment, but we understand that there can be many questions concerning becoming a landlord, and how to go about it correctly. Our upcoming event is a rare chance to access free sessions with a broad array of property experts, and have your most pressing questions answered about what it takes to make a success of property investment.”

Limited spaces are available for the event, so those interested in attending should RSVP at espc.com/events.

You'd have to be mad to enter the Scottish BTL market!

    Peter Why Do I Bother

This seriously has to be a joke, who on earth would invest North of the border with that set of lunatics running the asylum....

Not much better South of it either!

South will become the same within 5 years. There are still some landlords with properties to rent on south. However, in 5 years it will be a same ball game as Edinburgh, especially the cities, even though a lot of planned property builds, which will not be cheap.

Nobody in their right mind should get into buy to let in Scotland! AVOID!!!

There won’t be any take up! It must be a joke.

I'm staying put in the Scottish market, not selling but not buying any more either.

I have however started to avoid any tenants other than students to avoid the worst effects of the SNP legislation.

See my post on another of today's topics about how the SNP are denying the exodus of Scottish landlords and continuing to prevent increases to market rents.
