Repair management made easier through new collaboration...

An AI-powered solution to the challenge of repair management is on the cards thanks to a new collaboration.

AI-powered communications platform askporter has launched a first-of-its-kind repairs and maintenance partnership with Checkatrade.

The askporter Housing platform will integrate with Checkatrade; the objective is to cut the admin surrounding repairs management, reduce maintenance response times, simplify contractor sourcing and enhance the tenant experience.

askporter helps landlords, housing providers and facilities management teams to automate tenant communication, repairs and maintenance processes.

Its technology uses AI agents to triage repair requests, coordinate maintenance, answer tenant queries and streamline property management operations.

The service will work like this.

Tenants report maintenance issues through the askporter digital assistant and if appropriate it’s escalated. Landlords and property managers then receive up to five quotes from the 50,000 vetted tradespeople on Checkatrade’s platform with additional quotes available on request.

Once a tradesperson accepts the job, they can propose pricing adjustments if necessary, while managers or landlords retain full control over approval of the revised cost.

Tradespeople and tenants can then coordinate appointments directly through the platform.

Till Eichenauer, chief executive of askporter, says: “Repairs and maintenance remain one of the biggest headaches for landlords and property managers.

“This industry-first collaboration brings issue reporting, contractor sourcing, appointment booking, payments and digital sign-off into one platform, creating a smoother experience for both landlords and residents.”

And Hamza Anjarwalla, product and commercial Owner at Checkatrade, adds: “Finding reliable tradespeople is a major challenge, particularly when landlords and property managers are operating across multiple regions.

“By integrating Checkatrade’s network of vetted tradespeople into askporter’s platform, property teams will get faster access to trusted local contractors, making the coordination of repairs quick and simple.”
